Dusting off the keys: an update on ReMana
Mother’s Day is kind of a funny day. On one hand, it is an incredible opportunity to pause and appreciate the women in your life that have helped you become who you are. Or to thank and honor those that support you in raising your own children. Or to be recognized for all you do for your own family. But in addition to all the warm and fuzzies, it usually ends up as a day of reflection for me: am I the mother I aim to be and am I supporting the other mothers in my life in a way I feel proud of? Sometimes the answer to those questions is 'not quite'. This year was no different, especially as I reflected on my dream to support mothers outside of my own network, in a bigger way. After all, that’s where ReMana came from. And after sitting in my thoughts for a while on Sunday, I decided it was time to dust off the keys and share an update on where things are at with ReMana. I’ve felt a lot of guilt and, quite honestly, shame at times about this journey and how long it’s taken. But I’ve decided that it doesn’t do anyone any good for me to hide the ups and downs to get to this point. It’s better to share what’s worked, what hasn’t and what I’ve learned.

Since I am ready to share an update on where we’re headed, I figured I would also share a couple posts I wrote a long time ago on why I started this company, what my hopes and dreams are for it and give you a backwards glance in to how I’ve gotten to this point (stay tuned!). I had plans to bring all of you along through ‘behind-the-scenes’ blog posts, sharing the ins and outs of starting a business from scratch as a mom to 3 little ones. So what happened? What’s the update? Why the silence for so long? Well! It turns out that maternity leave that runs into a pandemic filled with homeschooling / virtual learning leaves a little to be desired in terms of time to build a business, nevermind the time to devote to sharing the work I was still trying to fit in. But in the last year and half, I have still been working to find new high quality manufacturing partners and refine our bottle design to get to a great spot with how it looks and performs. I’ve just received a new shipment of beautiful bottles ready for mamas like you to test out and give me feedback on. I’m thrilled about hitting this milestone. Even though it’s taken me much longer, ultimately this product is designed to support pumping moms, and I am beyond eager to hear feedback on how it meets your needs. I am actively seeking beta testers! Reach out to me if you’re interested!
If you’re reading this, thank you for having a continued interest in this journey with me! As I said in my last post, my goal with this blog is to share content that is interesting and helpful, but if nothing else, honest. As every founder will tell you, this journey is hard! Excited to share some more of the bright spots and lessons learned moving forward.
